I didn't know that everyone in your family is from Niue. I hope that you will be able to go and visit Niue some day. Maybe you can teach me some Niuean language. Is koe kia goodbye?

      Thank you, my nana is from Niue and my papa is from Tonga that’s my mums side and that’s why we are half niuean half Tongan. Yes I am happy it niuean language week.

      Yes koe Kia is Goodbye in niuean.

      Here are some Niuean words translated in English I had my mum help me with for you Miss scanlan.

      MALOLO NAKAI AKOE - How are you.
      FAKAMOLEMOLE - Please.
      FAKA UE LAHI - Thank you very much.
      TULOU - Sorry.
      OMAI KE KAI - Come and eat or Let’s go eat.
      MITAKI - Good.
      KELEA - Bad.
      E - Yes.
      NAKAI - No.
      FULUOLA - Beautiful.

      TAKIHI - Takihi is a niuean delicacy dish, made from thinly sliced niuean taro, and papaya, layered on top of each other and dressed with coconut cream wrapped in foil and baked in the oven or in a umu.
      It is considered a national dish of Niue.
